Getting into Delhi

- Delhi Metro Magenta Line from Terminal 1 IGI Airport station (DEL)
Underground and on the metro
Delhi Metro runs 10 lines. It opened in 2002. The operator does not publish whether the tunnels carry a mobile signal, so we do not claim either way.
Worth knowing about Delhi
- The Airport Express Line covers 22.7 km, of which 15.7 km is in tunnel, and reaches New Delhi station in about 15 minutes at 120 km/h.
- Two separate metro lines serve the airport. The Airport Express calls at IGI Airport for Terminal 3, and the Magenta Line has its own Terminal 1 IGI Airport station.
- The airport is 15 km southwest of New Delhi Railway Station and about 16 km from the city centre.
- The Delhi Metro opened on 24 December 2002 and now runs 10 colour coded lines over more than 370 km of track.
