It lives in the app under Refer and earn. Anywhere works: a message, a group chat, a story.
They get $5.89 off
Applied automatically at checkout on their first plan, on top of any promotion already running.
You get $5.89
Credited when they actually connect, not when they sign up. It lands as wallet balance, which never expires.

The rules, in full
- Your friend has to be new to Orbislo and connect within 90 days of signing up
- Credit is wallet balance, so it works in 145 countries and it does not expire
- No cap on referrals, and no expiry on what you earn
- You also earn 250 Miles per referral, which are worth $0.89 each and never expire
- We do not pay for self referrals or for accounts created on the same device, which is the only thing we check
When exactly it pays out
The trigger is the first connection abroad, not the sign up and not the payment. Your friend has to buy a plan, install it, land somewhere and attach to a network. The credit is added within minutes of that attach.
That trigger is deliberate, and it is the slower of the two. Paying on sign up would look better on this page and would fund a lot of empty accounts. Paying on first connection means we only pay once somebody has genuinely started using the thing.
The window is 90 days from your friend's sign up. If they sign up in March and do not travel until September, the referral has lapsed. They can still buy, they just no longer carry your bonus, and neither do you.
What disqualifies a referral
One thing, and we check exactly one thing. Self referrals and second accounts created on the same device do not pay. We do not run identity checks, we do not compare addresses, and we do not hold a payout while a review sits in a queue. Everything else rival programmes commonly exclude is allowed here, including family, other countries, and a friend who buys the cheapest plan on the site.
- Referring yourself, or a second account on the same device, pays nothing
- A friend who already had an Orbislo account is not a new referral, whichever email address they use
- A referral that passes 90 days without a connection lapses and cannot be reinstated
- Everything else is allowed, including family, other countries and the cheapest plan on the site
How it interacts with Miles
The two stack, and they are separate currencies. The $5.89 is wallet balance, which is money you spend on data. The 250 Miles are the loyalty currency, worth $0.89 each, which is $2.89 per referral on top of the cash.
Miles from a referral behave exactly like Miles from a purchase. They do not expire, there is no minimum redemption, and you can spend them on a renewal, on a subscription, or on an order that already has a promo code. You can also transfer up to 25,000 Miles to another traveller every 30 days.
What a referral does not do is move your tier. Tier is measured on 12 months of purchases, $150 for Silver and $500 for Gold, and a bonus is not a purchase.
How it interacts with promo codes
Your friend's $5.89 applies on top of whatever promotion is running when they check out. It is not an either or, and there is no code to type: the discount is attached to the link.
The same is true of Miles. Miles and a promo code go on the same order here. Holafly does not allow that, as of 2026-08-28, and it is the restriction most likely to catch somebody out, because it appears in the terms rather than on the page where you earn the currency.
If the person you referred asks for a refund
In most cases nothing happens to your bonus, because the bonus never existed yet. The refund cases that dominate are a plan that failed to provision, which is refunded automatically inside 60 seconds, and a plan that was never installed, which is refunded in full at any time. Both of those happen before a first connection abroad, and the first connection is what pays the referral.
If they refund after connecting, under the rule that covers a plan used under five percent or a network that failed in the destination, the referral has already paid and we do not take it back off you. You did the thing we asked. Whether the plan then worked is our problem and not yours.
Your friend's own $5.89 is a discount rather than a payment, so a refund returns what they actually paid. Refunds for a country they never travelled to go back to the wallet rather than the card, because wallet balance does not expire and is therefore worth the same to them next year.
What the rest of the category does to what you earn
The bonus itself is the easy part to match. What separates programmes is what the terms then do to the currency once you hold it, and every restriction in the table below was read off a rival's own published terms on 2026-08-28.
We do not win on every number. Airalo reaches 10% at its top loyalty tier after $200 of spend and we stop at 8%. On what you are then permitted to do with what you earned, we know of nobody with fewer exclusions, which is why ours are published here rather than in a terms document.
What you can do with what a referral pays you
| What you want to do | Here | Elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| Spend it on a renewal or a top up | Yes | Airalo blocks redemption on plan renewals |
| Spend it on a subscription | Yes | Holafly excludes subscriptions and Business products from HolaCoins |
| Use it and a promo code on the same order | Yes | Holafly does not let HolaCoins stack with a promo code |
| Pay a whole order with it and no card | Yes, there is no minimum | Ubigi requires at least $1.89 of real money on every redemption |
| Keep it if you do not travel this year | Yes, wallet balance and Miles both never expire | Nomad points expire 6 months after you earn them |
| Give it to another traveller | Yes, up to 25,000 Miles every 30 days | No major rival lets you transfer at all |
Competitor restrictions read off their own published terms on 2026-08-28, and rechecked whenever the price index is rebuilt.
