Worth knowing about Bukhara
- Bukhara's trains do not stop in Bukhara itself: the railway station is in the suburb of Kogon, about 15 km southeast of the city, so arriving Afrosiyob passengers still need a bus or taxi into the old town.
- The Afrosiyob high-speed extension to Bukhara opened on 25 August 2016, putting Bukhara about 3 hours 20 minutes from Tashkent and about 1 hour 12 minutes from Samarkand.
- Bukhara International Airport sits only about 4 km from the town centre - close enough that Wikivoyage notes you could walk it in roughly 40 minutes - so arrivals are on a local network almost immediately.
- Bukhara's ICAO identifier changed with Uzbekistan's October 2025 prefix switch and is now UZSB, not the older UTSB found in many flight databases.
