Underground and on the metro
Copenhagen Metro runs 4 lines. It opened in 2002. The operator does not publish whether the tunnels carry a mobile signal, so we do not claim either way.
Worth knowing about Copenhagen
- The Copenhagen Metro runs around the clock, every day the operator states service "all the time, around the clock, every day", and it is one of only three rapid transit systems in the world operating 24/7. A night arrival still has a train into the city.
- The metro is fully driverless and automated; line M2 is the one that serves Copenhagen Airport, reaching Nørreport in central Copenhagen in about 15 minutes.
- The airport has both a metro station (opened October 2007) and a separate mainline railway station located below ground directly under the Terminal 3 check-in and arrivals area, with Øresundståg services running on to southern Sweden so it is easy to leave Denmark by train straight from the terminal.
- M2 frequency from the airport is roughly every 2 minutes in rush hour, every 3 minutes off-peak, every 8 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights and every 20 minutes on other nights between 01:00 and 07:00.
