Worth knowing about Aarhus
- Aarhus Airport is not in Aarhus: it sits at Tirstrup, about 36 km northeast of the city, roughly 40 km by the Djursland motorway. Plan for a real transfer, not a short hop.
- The 925X airport bus is scheduled around flight arrivals and departures rather than on a fixed frequency, and Midttrafik only publishes its departures 2 4 weeks ahead check it close to the travel date.
- Aarhus has no metro. Its rail transit is the Aarhus Letbane light rail, opened in December 2017 with two lines (L1 to Grenaa, L2 to Odder plus the central tramway); the only tunnelled section is the pair of tunnels between Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital.
- Many Aarhus travellers fly via Billund Airport instead, about 98 km away, reached by Midttrafik's 912X coach that starts from Aarhus Rutebilstation and runs via Banegårdspladsen.
