- Vaduz is one of the few capital cities in the world with no airport at all; arrivals come through Zurich, with St. Gallen-Altenrhein and Friedrichshafen as smaller alternatives.
- Vaduz also has no railway station: the nearest is Schaan-Vaduz, 3.5 km away in Schaan, on Liechtenstein's only railway line, which is owned and run by Austrian Federal Railways.
- That station sees only 22 trains a day, 11 in each direction between Switzerland and Austria, so the practical link is the LIEmobil bus running every 20 to 40 minutes.
- Getting into Vaduz means crossing a border: the town is reached via the Swiss A13 or the Austrian A14, and from Switzerland across the Rhine by footbridge or the Werdenberger-Binnenkanal bridge.
